Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed he injured himself during his celebration after scoring the winner in the Champions League final in 1999.
The now Manchester United manager scored in injury time against Bayern Munch at the Nou Camp in dramatic fashion to lift the trophy.
Solskjaer slid on his knees and was asked whether that celebration caused his knee injury that let to his retirement in 2007.
The United boss told ESPN FC: 'That's not true. I did get injured and I did tweak my medial ligament.
'It was nothing to do with my injury but I missed two or three weeks and a couple of internationals for Norway but it was worth it. The celebration was worth it.
'I've seen [the goal] so many times. I cannot remember exactly what I felt because I was so focused on my job. I think it was bigger for everyone else around. I just did my job as a striker, something I'd done so many times before.
'It was just being in the right position at the right time.'
The Red Devils were 1-0 down in the final before Teddy Sheringham scored in the 91st minute and Solskjaer scored two minutes later.
The United manager will be taking his side to the Nou Camp 20 years on from that final, on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils face Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie and will have to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.

Oh be quiet Ole the football you have got us playing is absolutely dreadful i find chasing sheep more exciting than watching my beloved Manchester United these days.

I've got to admit that united would be far easier opponents in the semi's. Let's hope they can scrape through, but realistically they've got a snowballs chance.

why can't our forwards, rashford, likaku, martial and sanchez take an example from solskjaer and play like our boss played in the past.

Bring back Moyes or im defecting to Spurs
In the words of cantona, you can change your wife, your country and your politics. But you can never, never change your favourite football club.

As much as I love Ole, and 1999 was the best sporting year of my life, I think we need to stop remembering the good times and think forward more often.

well this is Barcelona and his home ground. taking about the past won't help you,or are you just saying to keep your from getting sacked. in reality it will be heating a parent rock with a small hammer. we are eagerly waiting for match day to compare your oily tongue and your performance.
