Jose Mourinho has hit out at his Manchester United players and questioned their motivation to help turn things around, insisting 'some care more than others'.
Mourinho is under mounting pressure as United prepare to face Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday night following successive defeats to Derby County and West Ham.
Fallouts with Paul Pogba and a number of other United stars have not helped Mourinho's cause, but he insists the players are still 'honest' and behind him.
Asked if his job is on the line, Mourinho replied: 'No, I don't think.'
Pressed on whether he has spoken to United chief Ed Woodward over his positon, he added: 'That's a private matter. I'm not asking you who did you speak with this morning, who was your last phone call, that's a private matter.'
Mourinho also faced questions over whether his players still care enough to back him following an abject performance in the 3-1 defeat at West Ham.
He replied: 'I think some care more than others.
'After 20 years of football, I am still the kid that I was 20 years ago and I am still naïve, but I still don't believe that a player is not honest.
'There were big players in the past and I ask these people with great reputations if at any time in their careers they went to a game not to give the maximum, not to help the club, not to make the fans happy and not to try his best.
'If somebody tells them "I was a football player and I didn't give my best" then I change my opinion. Until somebody who was a big professional player says he was a dishonest player, I will always believe the players. They do it, they don't do it that's a different story, but I repeat I am naive or I still believe the player is an honest man.'
'Sometimes what it looks is exactly the opposite. You can be laughing and be the saddest person in the world and you can have a sad face and inside you are very happy.'
On the aftermath of Saturday's 3-1 defeat at West Ham, Mourinho said: 'Every player is different, no player is the same. I see different reactions. But what you see is not really inside. I see upset people and some people that don't look like they lost a game. But in the little two sessions of training we had everything is normal with a desire to work and play.'
Midfielder Nemanja Matic also attended the press conference with his manager and dismissed his claims that players weren't giving their all.
'We played badly on Saturday but I don't believe any player doesn't give his best,' said the Serbian.
'I believe I played one of my worst games for United but I look in the mirror and ask what I did wrong and everybody does the same.'
'The pressure is always there but we're not scared to play. It's a challenge when every team wants to beat Man Utd. We weren't ready for that in the last few games but we have to be ready as soon as possible.'

its clear that players not happy with Jose and they not believe his tactics will work. But its a same tactics through which Jose won so many silverware the player compares him with Klopp and Pep but its obvious that if you don't have good back four you never play that attacking game. this thing Jose knows well until and unless he got the right combination in back four he never go for the attacking football. see at real Madrid the team scored more than 100 goals in each season while Jose was in charge is it due to defensive play? He want a defence which he believes otherwise he never attacked, he play attacking with Tottenham and Hammers but due to defensive errors he lost. also he lack of strong defensive midfielder in Chelsea he has makallely , in inter he has Motta, in real he has Alonso. who is in ManU ? no body. Every manager has his own methods and tactics but its the player who believe their manager and his tactics to be successful. I think its better that Jose should leave the club and let's see the successor also struggle with such group of so called superstars though its Zidane. while Sir Alex in charge of ManU there was also burst with player but club always stand with him , that is the big difference we can see today's ManU...they are bend towards Chelsea more.

Mourinho got an attitude problem. He want to respond at everything said about him which is very bad and risky for any manager, ruler or leader. If a king wants to hear and respond to everything said about him, he will certainly hear where his yard cleaner is insulting him. What I'm saying here is that as a leader, manager etc., you don't give your ears and respond to petit talks. The moment you do, you are done.

Mourinho is one depressing person to come across, always fuc**king cribbing, always having excuses, always making someone a space goat for his failures, just because of the fact, he's won major honours at various countries & big clubs has made him very arrogant as a person, he has started to consider himself a brand at the managerial level, his ego has become so big that, he cannot accept mistakes, he cannot bow down in front of a player, he wants everything to be done his way, he's like a dictator, but unfortunately, he isn't going to last long, the brand can only become big, if it delivers quality to it's buyers, but when a brand starts to think, I'm the best, & people are going to buy whatever I sell, that's his undoing, because there are many like him, who will sell what the buyers demand.

What he said isn't wrong. Look at Manchester United, they lack the spirit of playing for Manchester United. They look sloppy in the pitch. And all these will result a manager to get sacked. Why wouldn't he raise a question then. Players like Pogba think he is the one and only in the club. His attitude made other players think the same. Zidane will do no good if these attitudes continues. Give Mourihno support and time then see what he's capable of. ManU players need to understand their coach. If Chelsea players adapt to his nature why wouldn't these players. I think these players will give much more success to ManU under Jose Mourihno.

players power is bad for a club. player should realize they were paid to play for the clunky not for the manager. united players are not giving their best.

For criticism, we should focus more on our players who are not comitted and giving their all to the club, let take a leaf from other clubs and you will see desires and commitments to defend their club name but the reverse is the case with united players

There was one Arsenal player that he had to have but didn’t realise that he brought Arsenal down and is now helping bring Man U down and earning an nice weekly pay package for doing so
