Spurs star Son Heung-min will be kept indoors for two weeks following his return from South Korea as the club's medical staff look to quell the threat of the coronavirus.
Sportsmail revealed on Thursday how Tottenham were confident Son was not at risk having decided to let their forward fly to Seoul for surgery on his broken arm.
Nevertheless, Son will be forced into a period of isolation, in line with Home Office guidelines for people returning from affected countries.
Spurs maintain the course of action is precautionary and they have no concerns Son has contracted the virus during his stay in his homeland.
Nonetheless, Son is the most high-profile Premier League player to have been directly impacted by the coronavirus outbreak.
Spurs are confident he can maintain his fitness during his isolation before returning to training with the rest of the squad. There is hope he can be back in action before the end of the season if he wears a specially designed cast.
The decision to allow Son to travel, despite the spread of the virus in Asia, was taken in view of a similar injury he suffered in 2017.
Son had a metal plate inserted into his arm three years ago after suffering a fractured right forearm and the player was keen to go to South Korea so the surgeon who repaired the previous injury could undertake last week’s procedure.
Son has been in Seoul, which is 150 miles away from Daegu and Cheongdo — the two cities that have containment measures in place because of the coronavirus outbreak, hence why Spurs believe their player is not at risk.
