Spence to join Inter for €31.5 million, third highest english transfer fee in Serie A history

Spence, who reportedly had an impressive summer at the World Cup, is close to leaving Tottenham Hotspur to join Internazionale for a transfer fee of approximately €31.5 million. He will play alongside his compatriot Stones at Inter.

Spence will join the ranks of English players who have recently moved to Serie A. Stones, Chalobah, Tomori, and Abraham have all transferred from English football to Italy.

The record for British player transfers in Serie A history is still held by Abraham, who moved from Chelsea to Roma in 2021 for €41 million. Tomori transferred from Stamford Bridge to Milan in the same year for €35 million, ranking second. After Spence's imminent move to Internazionale, his approximately €31.5 million valuation will place him third, just ahead of McTominay's €30.5 million transfer from Manchester United to Napoli. Trevoh Chalobah's €30 million transfer from Chelsea to Como this summer ranks fifth.
