Welcome to live build-up, coverage and reaction to Arsenal’s match with Sporting CP at the Jose Alvalade Stadium.
Arsenal have a brief distraction from their Premier League title charge with European football returning for the Gunners. After dodging potentially dangerous ties against the likes of Juventus and Sevilla, Sporting CP are the opponents, which means a reunion with an old friend.
Martin Odegaard missed out of the squad through illness too. The game also comes too soon for Gabriel Jesus who is not in the squad.
Kaya Kaynak and Tom Canton will bring you all the latest as the Gunners resume their Europa League ambitions.

Nope, poor corner from Vieira.
Arsenal won't be happy with the performance but will be happy to come away from Portugal with the scores all level.
Last chance of the game.
Another chance for the winger to cut in. This time his connection is much better but the direction of the shot is again straight at Adan.
Can Arsenal claim a win?
Edwards off, impressive again.
Issahaku comes on.
Saka cuts inside and hits a stretched effort at Adan who collects.
Penalty appeal on Vieira waved away.
Should be a yellow but this referee has missed almost everything in this game and missed that too.
Union Berlin 2-3 Union Saint-Gilloise
Leverkusen 1-0 Ferencvarosi
Roma 1-0 Real Sociedad
The substitute has come on and nearly scores. Chermiti misses a header before the ball finds the defender who strikes wide.
Ben White brought down. Referee waited an age to give it but eventually does.
Diomande and Chermiti are on.
Esgaio and Paulinho off.
A good move called offside correctly.
Arsenal didn't have to play the ball own as the centre-half is down clutching his ankle... but they do.
Trincao comes off for Nuno Santos.
Kiwior, Jorginho and Nelson are off.
Gabriel, Partey and Smith Rowe coming on.
Arsenal try to build but Nelson is found on the edge of the box only to shoot over.
Martinelli gets his head on a Tomiyasu cross and it is heading potentially over but the Spaniard makes sure.
Pinball in the box and it will be another corner. Nelson overhits the corner out for a goal kick.
Tomiyasu is coming on for Zinchenko which makes sense. Arsenal have been so open at the back.
We will take that all day long! Xhaka strikes from range and it hits St Juste and the deflection beats Adan.
VAR check ongoing for a potential foul from Saka...
Check complete. Goal stands.
Another huge let-off for Arsenal as Sporting CP should score. The defence is all out of position and the striker is sent through one-on-one but his shot is high and wide.
Wow! That deserved a goal and Martinelli's last touch took him away from goal.
The Brazilian runs from the half-way line and beyond, beating Sporting players but after rounding Adan his touch let him down and St Juste cleared.
Arsenal get away with it again. Edwards cuts inside but is tackled and as Vieira looks to run away Morita collides. A harsh yellow to be honest. He will miss the second leg.
Arsenal are behind and it comes from a counterattack again. Paulinho gets the home side in front as the Gunners cannot clear the ball.
Edwards pass inside to Goncalves sees a save from Turner but he parries to the striker who strikes in.
Again Xhaka was involved with combination play alongside Nelson. He feeds Zinchenko on the left whose cross is a bit too high and Martinelli can only head over.
Very good play from Arsenal. Xhaka wins the ball back really well and the ball finds its way to Martinelli who lays the ball off for Vieira whose shot goes agonisingly close to Adan's left post.
Zinchenko feeds in Martinelli who tries to dink the shot over Adan but the Spaniard manages to get a hand to it.
Zinchenko gives the ball away and Trincao runs down the left flank. His cross is punched away by Turner to Morita whose shot is straight at the American.
Here we go! Can Arsenal bring a lead back to north London?

Arsenal needs a central forward as soon as possible. Martinelli is so used to the flank that he forgets he is playing through the middle now. If Jesus is set, please use him or regret soon
