Tottenham have taken a significant step towards moving into their new stadium after opening the East Stand to supporters for the first time on Sunday night.
Around 1,000 people were invited to the familiarisation event where the Super Bowl was streamed on the big screens.
It was the first time Tottenham have opened the doors to the new East Stand, the NFL event providing the club with an opportunity to test that part of the stadium.
Spurs also opened one of the plushest lounges in the East Stand to the guests for the night.
The screening of the clash between the New England Patriots and LA Rams is not classed as an official test event.
Nevertheless, the Superbowl showing provides another clear indication that Spurs are finally ready to open the new White Hart Lane after months of delays.
Spurs should make an announcement this week on the final phase of preparations at the new £1billion stadium.
As it stands, the games against Crystal Palace on March 17 and Brighton on April 6 have been pencilled in as moving in dates.
However, both games may have to be re-arranged should Palace and Brighton progress in the FA Cup.
Roy Hodgson’s men face Doncaster in the next round, where victory would preclude them from facing Spurs on March 17.
Similarly, if Brighton reach the FA Cup semi-final, their visit to Spurs on April 6 would also need to be rescheduled.
Such a scenario would provide a stumbling block, with doubts over whether Tottenham would consider a night game to open their new ground.
Spurs must first hold two official test events at their new stadium before being given the final green light, plans for which should be included in the forthcoming update.
Tottenham may consider holding an Under-23’s fixture at the new White Hart Lane as one of their test events.

It looks orgasmic. I hope first game is a daytime game purely because 62k geting home will overwhelm local transport infrastructure until stations are upgraded by next season
