Christian Eriksen will cost Real Madrid £130million this summer.
That is the price tag Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has slapped on the Denmark international.
Although playmaker Eriksen will have just a year to run on his contract from June, Levy is determined to deliver the maximum possible return.
And should Spanish giants Madrid pursue a deal at that price, an agreement between the two clubs for the 27-year-old to follow in the footsteps of ex-Spurs stars Luka Modric and Gareth Bale would see him become the third most expensive player EVER behind Paris Saint-Germain duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
The £130m figure is more than 10 times what Spurs paid Dutch club Ajax for him in 2013.
Speculation over the Dane comes as boss Mauricio Pochettino’s future at the north London club appears more secure than ever with Real Madrid reappointing Zinedine Zidane and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer getting the nod at Manchester United .
And with Pochettino’s men due to play their first game at their stunning new £1billion stadium on Wednesday, players such as Son Heung-min believe the stage is set for success.
Son said: “We have the best training ground in the world. We have the best stadium in the world. It’s also true we have the best manager in the world. Everything is now ready to compare to anything. It’s now very important that the players are serious and take the chance.
“It’s simple. The answer is now the players – how they perform, how seriously they take things. I am looking to the future and winning something with this new stadium and unbelievable club.”
Everyone at Spurs will have breathed a sigh of relief when United confirmed Solskjaer as Jose Mourinho’s long-term replacement on Thursday, but Son insists speculation about Pochettino’s future has met with deaf ears in the changing room.
Before Sunday's trip to a Liverpool side who can go top of the table with a win, he added: “We just focus on ourselves. We don’t have to care about the other teams, other people talking about us. It’s just looking forward and achieving our aims.”
Spurs' squad trained at their new home for the first time on Thursday afternoon and, while Son is still lamenting the loss of White Hart Lane, he is keen to write the next chapter in the club’s history.
He said: “I still remember White Hart Lane because, when you come in, you’re still thinking about it. The Tottenham of White Hart Lane was a special thing and now you have to make the history for this stadium – it’s our turn.”
Spurs had lost three and drew one of their final four Premier League outings before a three-week lay-off caused by their exit from the FA Cup and the international break, but Son added: “Now we have to keep together and, after three weeks, I hope we can be fresh, positive and energetic, and we can bring our best performances.”

I don't see anything wrong with the price tag,he is that good. but do we really need him though, much less to spend that much cash on him? with that 130m we can get Hazard(a player we ABSOLUTELY NEED AT MADRID). with that money we can buy Icardi or Dybala. we already have a lot of midfielders. Isco, ceballos, Modric,Kroos, valverde, and kovacic(though I think they would sell him) who all play the exact role that eriksen does. if this deal is to happen then no doubt at least two of the players I listed are going to leave. not sure if we should really go for him tbh

Real Madrid are better be serious and go for what really needed, Ronaldo scores over 40 goals for Real Madrid nearly every season, now you are talking of Erickson, Hazard, are they gong to score 40 goals for Real Madrid in a season, even if you have them both, they wouldn’t score up to 30 goals, bullshit. Go for Neymar now because he can score a lot of goals than any stricter just like Messi and Ronaldo, we all know what he is capable of doing, and get Mbappe in 2022. Maybe Rashford would have been the hottest striker by then. But right now, you need Neymar.

76 euros for a 27 years old midfielder.. Common Zizou and Perez.. You can do better... He is good no doubt.. But often show in top matches.... If he is off in a start of a match.. He will be off throughout..... What's the point.... Real Madrid needs a gearing Midfielder.. Someone like Ivan Rakitic who is a shadow always in the midfield or Bernardo Silva who can also play from Midfield..... Not Eriksen who shut down anytime in a game.. You only see him when his team scores.

Face Up, Madrid is a club which will not be one that will grow budding youngsters to starlets. There will have to buy players and Zidane will have his hands full this summer. None of the European Clubs owes Real Madrid anything and they will just have to pay through their nose! How good you will be in whipping up a deal to move one player in you will have another hurdle to jump for another. At the end of thing probably the ideal squad for Madrid will end up with a price tag that beyond this planet! €800m and rising still .... Ridiculous. [Crylaugh]
