Arsenal's final pre-season game before the start of the new campaign ended in defeat as Barcelona ran out winners in the Joan Gamper trophy friendly encounter at the Nou Camp.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang broke the deadlock in the first-half which was then cancelled out by a Ainsley Maitland-Niles comical own goal. With just a minute of normal time remaining, Luis Suarez popped up with a superb volley to win the pre-season friendly in fine style.
Here, Sportsmail runs you through the five things we learned at the Nou Camp on Sunday evening.
SUAREZ OUTSHINES GRIEZMANN
The old football cliche 'form is temporary, class is permanent' is often bandied about but Luis Suarez proved it to be true in the 27 minutes he had on the pitch.
Suarez was a real thorn in Arsenal's side and often had the Gunners defence twisting and turning while trying to figure out where he'd be going next.
After struggling to hit his normal heights last season, Suarez was back with a bang on Sunday night and could've have grabbed a brace while he also had a strong claim for a penalty waved away.
However, with less than 60 seconds of normal time remaining, Suarez showed his incredible technique to leap off the ground and acrobatically volley the ball past Bernd Leno in the Arsenal goal – a strike worthy to win any match.
It comes on a night when Antoine Griezmann made his first start in front of a packed-out crowd at the Nou Camp, 98,812 fans to be precise, but the Frenchman struggled to create any clear-cut chances for himself on his home debut.
RIQUI PUIG PULLS THE STRINGS FOR BARCA
Riqui Puig has been praised by Pep Guardiola for his flair and elegance he shows when on the ball.
The 19-year-old, who turns 20 in 11 days time, was given the nod against the Gunners and showed those watching exactly what Pep meant.
A graduate of La Masia, Puig pulled the string in the No 10 role as he sprayed balls left and right on the edge of Arsenal's area as they camped inside their own box.
Frenkie de Jong also performed admirably in the centre of the park but Puig should not be overlooked.
ARSENAL YOUTH COME UP TRUMPS AGAIN
A common theme to Arsenal's pre-season so far is maturity shown by the young talent that is starting to emerge at the club.
Joe Willock had another stand-out game while Bukayo Saka provide two several good crosses in a matter of minutes that should've resulted in goals.
It can be argued that Martinelli really should have scored to restore Arsenal's lead but the future is certainly bright at the Emirates.
BARCA STRUGGLED WITH AUBAMEYANG PACE
Even at the age of 30, Aubameyang has showed he is not slowing down any time soon.
The Barcelona defence struggled with his pace and had no answer when he broke the deadlock with a power shot in the first half on Sunday.
While the hosts dominated most of possession, they often looked vulnerable in defence and struggled to cope with the Gunners' attacking outlets as a result.
Aubameyang continues to be top dog for Arsenal, and with the news that Alexandre Lacazette is struggling with an injury, he is crucial to the club ahead of the new campaign.
DEMBELE SHOULD BE KEPT AT ALL COSTS
Neymar has been linked with a sensational return to the Nou Camp and reports suggested that Barcelona were willing to use Ousmane Dembele as a makeweight in any deal for the Brazilian.
At the age of 22, Dembele has showed he has heaps of potential and it would be mad to get rid of the talented Frenchman.
Starting alongside his compatriot Griezmann, Dembele was a constant handful for Arsenal left-back Nacho Monreal and was unplayable at times.
Barcelona should keep him at all costs.

internal competition between Suarez and grizi will definitely help barca as both will try to outside each other and ultimately will help the team. last season Suarez knew that their is no substitute player for him and there was no pressure of turning out to be a flop and dropping in next game. let's hope this will help them in laliga

For me.. the five things I learnt is 1 Frenkie and Puig were outstanding and they played well, and they should have continued the second half, both are the future players of Barcelona. 2 Suarez scores the winning goal and he proves that age is just a number... This is not only the first time he has saved Barca from a situation like this. 3 Barca should promote players like Puig to the first time just like they did for wague and Alena, he is talented and he can balance the midfield, he is great at shot and crossing. 4 Griezmann played well and but he didn't spark as well expect him to but he has a long way to go we can see his brilliance on the pitch. 5 Semedo played well and should be guaranteed the starting line up which Roberto and semedo should be competing for their spot. Great and tantalizing game... Good Luck Barca

Auba: Nothing special about barca! On any other day with laca and pepe we can easily beat them! Its only me who cause them havoc but with 3 of us we'd be a handful!!

1. Barca need to stop this dumb obsession they have with buying every available winger and look at what they actually need to work on which is probably defence with Pique coming to the end and Umtiti not looking like the guy they wanted him to be and similarly Lenglet too. Barca should be thinking defenders and a New DM for the aging Busquets, not wingers which they have like 100 of anyway. . 2. Arsenal need to start thinking about the back cos goals scored wins you games but goals conceded also losea you games. It's all good to score plenty of goals but if you concede more you are clearly doing business the wrong way. Before Pepe for 80 million, they should have looked at least at bringing in 3 new defenders. Didnt do the business needed and now will start to get punished for it again this season otherwise they have the squad to compete if not for that awful defence.. . Honestly just needed 2 points to summarise both teams issues..
