TA: Bellingham & Mbappe might miss the 1st leg UCL game against Man City

Local time on March 6, The Athletic reported that, according to multiple sources, Bellingham will miss Real Madrid's Champions League Round of 16 match against Manchester City first leg due to an unrecovered thigh muscle strain.

Sources say Real Madrid hope Bellingham can return for the second leg on March 17, and they believe it is more realistic for Bellingham to return in the Madrid derby five days after that game. Similarly, Mbappe is also expected to miss the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, and his chances of playing in the second leg are also questionable.

Bellingham has traveled to London to consult a medical specialist about his thigh injury, while Mbappe is undergoing a second assessment in Paris for a sprained left knee. Both players were accompanied by members of the Real Madrid medical department for their visits, and the plan is for both to return to Madrid this weekend.

Sources say the return time for both players remains unclear. Since Mbappe has had persistent knee pain since December, there are concerns that returning too early could worsen the injury. After the second leg against Manchester City, Real Madrid's only game before the international break is the Madrid derby on March 22.
