Manchester United's season reached a new low following the 2-0 defeat at West Ham, as the Red Devils failed to score a goal for the fourth game in a row.
That is the first time the Premier League giants have managed such a miserable feat since November of 1992 when they were still under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson. Nowadays, Erik ten Hag is at the helm and pressure is mounting on the Dutchman amid' this dire run of form.
That was not the only piece of unwanted history United made during the dismal display in east London. Failing to find the net against the Hammers ensured the club's worst league run without a goal since 2015 amid Louis van Gaal's reign.
United have been in particularly poor form in front of goal all season and are the joint-lowest scorers of the top 15 sides in the Premier League. As a squad, the Red Devils have bagged a feeble 18 goals in 18 league games, which has been a huge factor in their poor season so far.
Ten Hag's men now languish as low as eighth in the table and have lost more games than they have won across all competitions this season. Come full-time, United left-back Luke Shaw was pressed for comment on what was going wrong with the Red Devils attack.
"I don’t know," he admitted. "It’s tough to think what is going on. I think maybe we are not creating enough, but on the other hand, when we do we’re not clinical. I think maybe it could be a lack of confidence at the moment, but sometimes that’s normal in football, it happens."
Shaw issued a brutal review of United's performance against the Hammers, adding: "We keep losing games and points and we’re making it hard with ourselves, especially with the second half - it was not good enough.
"In the first half we controlled the game and I think we had chances again. If we score the first goal, maybe the result is different but we don’t, so we suffered in that second half, so it was not good enough."
United currently sit eighth in the table, six points adrift of the Champions League qualification places. With Aston Villa up next, things could get worse before they get better for Ten Hag's struggling stars.

ETH doesn't the courage to bench Bruno. the captain is the real problem of the team. why not give the younger players and who are fresher life chances to make it to the first eleven. instead ETH puts the dead woods like Anthony, Bruno, onana,

I don't think we have signed a striker yet in our team. I can only blame Ten Hag for his poor transfer policy but our players are mostly responsible for this miserable season.
