John Terry has endeared himself to Chelsea fans after explaining the reason why he wore the No 26 shirt throughout his career.
The former Blues defender invited fans to ask him questions on Instagram on Thursday with one simply responding 'why 26???'.
'When I broke into the first-team at Chelsea, that was my number,' Terry replied.
'I had seen some fans with my name and number on their shirts. I didn't want them paying out for another shirt.'
The 38-year-old, currently assistant manager at Aston Villa, also had a brutal response when replying to a proud Spurs supporter.
'Tottenham Hotspur forever', the fan wrote. Terry's riposte was simple yet effective, merely sharing a trophy emoticon with an eyes one next to it, clearly making reference to the club's 11-year wait for a piece of silverware.
Terry spent 19 years at Chelsea, coming through the club's youth teams before going on to become their most successful ever captain.
He scored 41 goals in 492 appearances, winning five Premier League titles and a Champions League.
