The World Cup winning Italian side of 1982 have sent the current squad a letter giving them their best wishes ahead of this Sunday's final against England at Wembley.
The letter is intended to give Roberto Mancini's side a boost, with a tough task ahead of them, particularly playing away from home.
"Over the last few weeks, we've seen many things which have made a mark on our sporting and human history," reads the letter published by La Gazzetta Sportiva.
"We have seen ourselves in your passion, your commitment, and your will to come through such a difficult period.
"Beautiful stories are never forgotten because they never end; they are emotions that are timeless, memories that are reinforced, passing from heart to heart, from memory to memory. It'll be like that for you as well. No matter what happens.
"Thank you for allowing us to relive all this, for making us feel young and fearless, for having shown that within each Italian there is a deep, great, unpredictable force that explodes in difficult moments and makes impossible feats seem possible. You have to dare, dream of the future that you can build. And now go to London, take to the pitch and give it your all as you always have. Beautiful stories never end! Come on, boys!"
Mancini's side will dispute their second European Championship final this Sunday, with their first coming with a win against Yugoslavia in 1968.
