As the football season picks up greater momentum with the weeks flashing by, it's very easy to get drawn into all-consuming Premier League and the English stars within it battling for recognition.
With the constantly evolving landscape of football seeing more and more players head overseas however, the progress of the Brits abroad can often become completely overlooked.
Sportsmail has taken a look around the globe to keep tabs on how English stars are faring further afield...
Jadon Sancho, Borussia Dortmund, Bundesliga
Jadon Sancho made good on his blistering breakthrough season for Borussia Dortmund during the beginning of this campaign.
From the first seven Bundesliga games of the season, the youngster had a remarkable six assists and three goals.
He also grabbed a goal and an assist in the 2-0 German Super Cup final win against Bayern Munich.
But there have also been problems for the England international. He was dropped for the game against Borussia Monchengladbach after returning late from international duty — with manager Lucien Favre referring to a 'disciplinary measure'.
He was also hauled off before half-time as Dortmund lost 4-0 to Bayern Munich due to his poor performance.
But he has since returned to form in blistering style with eight goals in as many games for his club, taking his tally to 14 goals in 29 games for club and country.
With Manchester City, Manchester United and other top English sides chasing him, he might not be in Germany for long.
Ademola Lookman, RB Leipzig, Bundesliga
Everton decided to cut their losses on the highly-rated Lookman in summer, who moved back to Leipzig, where he had previously spent time on loan, for a fee north of £20million.
So far this season the 21-year-old has made four appearances, coming on for the final 11 minutes against Frankfurt in the second game of the season, before playing the last half hour in a shock 3-1 home defeat to Schalke.
Lookman, who became frustrated with lack of opportunities on Merseyside, is still playing a game of patience.
Reece Oxford, Augsburg, Bundesliga
The enigma of English football, many fans and pundits alike expected Oxford to immediately explode into a Premier League star after he marked Mesut Ozil out of the game as a 16-year-old debutant back in 2015.
This summer the now 21-year-old permanently committed to German football after a series of loans, signing for Augsburg.
Of the first seven league fixtures, Oxford featured in six (two draws, three defeats, one victory).
The season-opening 5-1 drubbing by Borussia Dortmund saw Oxford moved from central defence to a deep-lying defensive midfielder, where he has remained ever since.
He has made eight appearances in total and Augsburg are tenth, eight points clear of the drop zone.
Marcus Edwards, Vitoria de Guimaraes, Portuguese Primeira Liga
After being hyped up as the next big thing from the Tottenham youth set-up, Edwards bit the bullet and headed to Portugal in order to expand his game and prove himself on the continent.
The 20-year-old was omitted from the match-day squad for the first three games of the season, before being handed a 34-minute substitute appearance on the right wing in the most recent tie against Pacos de Ferreira, which ended in a 1-0 win.
He has gone one to make 13 appearances and has scored four goals, including three in his last three matches.
Daniel Sturridge, Trabzonspor, Turkish Superlig
It has been baby steps for a player who was so often plagued with injuries during his time at Liverpool.
Sturridge made a 20-minute domestic debut against Genclerbirligi, before missing the following match with an Achilles concern.
Returning with a final minute run-out against Besiktas, Sturridge then hit the back of the net for the first time during a 27 minute cameo against Caykur Rizespor to seal a 2-1 victory.
The former England international has socred twice in 10 games so far for Trabzonspor to date.
Steven Caulker, Alanyaspor, Turkish Superlig
After leaving Dundee in September 2018, Caulker remained without a club until signing for Alanyaspor in January.
Early statistics point to a man revitalised. Caulker has an impeccable record with his new club in the Turkish top flight, and Alanyaspor are sixth in the table at present.
Caulker started and played a full 90 minutes in the first six games of the season, as his new side picked up four victories and two draws.
Caulker's strong form has clearly instilled a new level of self-belief, with the player himself having now contacted Scotland coach Steven Reid to declare his interest in playing for the national team, for which he is eligible due to his grandmother.
Bobby Duncan, Fiorentina, Serie A
Anyone who hadn't heard of Bobby Duncan - cousin of football legend Steven Gerrard - soon had once the news of his messy departure from Liverpool became public knowledge.
The 18-year-old was determined to leave Anfield and his boyhood club in order to get senior team playing time, and begin to make his impression on the football world.
Duncan is wasting no time in getting stuck in, having scored three goals in four games for the club's academy in the Italian youth league (Primavera 1) - including a 30-yard screamer against Roma.
The Liverpudlian is yet to be handed a senior team call-up alongside the likes of Franck Ribery and Federico Chiesa, but was promoted into Paul Simpson's England Under 19 squad.
Kieran Tripper, Atletico Madrid, La Liga
Atletico find themselves seven points off the top of the table behind Barcelona but Trippier has had a solid start to life in Spain.
After a nightmarish season last year, which saw him lose his England place, Trippier has taken to Spanish football like a duck to water and regained his Three Lions status.
The Bury-born full-back has played the full 90 in seven of Atleti's opening eight matches, with one assist on the board already.
Manager Diego Simeone is said to be pleased with his attacking positioning, while team-mate were awed by his levels of fitness despite arriving late during the pre-season campaign.
Lee Cattermole, VVV-Venlo, Eredivisie
Veteran star Cattermole is not done just yet, and is now plying his trade in the Dutch top flight.
Cattermole brought to an end a decade of football with his local club Sunderland in summer, and penned a one-year deal with VVV.
The 31-year-old spent the first two games of the season making late cameo appearances while bringing up his fitness levels. He was, of course, booked on his debut despite playing only 17 minutes.
More recently, Cattermole played almost the full 90 in each of VVV's previous four league matches, in his customary defensive midfield anchor role.
VVV are currently 16th in the Eredivise standings.
Jerome Sinclair, VVV-Venlo, Eredivisie
Former Liverpool 'wonderkid' Sinclair also finds himself in the Dutch top flight this season, and now features alongside Cattermole after being taken on loan by VVV from Watford.
Of the 16 league games this season so far, Sinclair has featured as a impact sub in 10 - providing no goals.
For a player who once stood at the youngest senior Liverpool player in history, at 16 years and six days old, Sinclair's career trajectory still fails to go as many predicted.
Kemar Roofe, Anderlecht, Belgian Pro League
After pulling out all the stops to take Roofe from Leeds in the summer, things have started encouragingly at Anderlecht.
The club made a torrid start to the campaign under returning hero Vincent Kompany, and Roofe arriving with a niggling ankle injury meant he missed the opening six matches.
Making his debut against Waasland-Beveren, Roofe played 85 minutes but failed to notch a maiden goal. He was booked, however, and then saw yellow again in the next match against RSC Charleroi.
But he then hit the back of the net in a 4-1 win over St. Truiden and has notched an impressive six in 12 to date.
