The games Alli could miss after suffering recurrence of hamstring injury

Injury will keep midfielder out of action

Tottenham star Dele Alli is set for a prolonged period on the sidelines.

The 22-year-old picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty with England, but had returned to action last week when Spurs took on Watford in the Carabao Cup.

Alli was desperate to play in that clash in midweek, what with the game being hosted by his former club Milton Keynes Dons.

And Alli scored from the penalty spot during the game and then converted a spot-kick during the shootout as Spurs made it through to the fourth round.

But playing in that clash was probably not wise in hindsight, with the midfielder suffering a recurrence of that hamstring injury as a result.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino said following the win over Huddersfield on Saturday: "We'll see what happens with Dele, but the re-injury he's not going to be ready for the next few games."

There are fears that Alli will miss the next month of action for Tottenham, so what does that mean for Spurs?

The games that Alli looks set to miss:

Wednesday, October 3 - Barcelona - Champions League

Saturday, October 6 - Cardiff City - Premier League

Saturday, October 20 - West Ham - Premier League

Wednesday, October 24 - PSV Eindhoven - Champions League
