Sunday night's Classique between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille at the Parc des Princes ended in a victory for the visitors, yet it was the scenes in extra time which have garnered the most attention.
A total of 10 yellow cards and five red cards were shown in the match - three for PSG, two for Marseille - as the game spiralled out of control at the end.
The first players to be sent off were both teams' left-backs: PSG's Layvin Kurzawa and Marseille's Jordan Amavi.
The two players engaged in fisticuffs in the middle of the pitch, while Leandro Paredes and Dario Benedetto also got into a scuffle, following the PSG midfielder's late foul on the Marseille striker, who had kicked the ball away. Both Paredes and Benedetto received a yellow, which was their second of the game.
Neymar was the next player to leave the pitch after a VAR review found that he had hit Alvaro Gonzalez on the back of the head, with the two having had a constant verbal duel during the match.
"He's racist, that's why I hit him," Neymar said to the fourth official as he made his way off the pitch.
As if that wasn't enough, the Classique also saw another embarrassing scene: Angel Di Maria spitting towards Alvaro, which obviously comes in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.
The VAR adjudged that the Spaniard was not actually spat on, a decision that he vehemently complained about to the referee.
