Craig Hope has slagged off Sunderland for years. He's had an anti-SAFC agenda for some reason and obviously he's keeping to it. Even if (IF) his report were true, so what? The fact that it isn't true makes him an absolute disgrace.
Newcastle fans have made the same comments regarding Craig Hope and their club. Truth is, he's a pretty poor columnists and reporter who counts on reader reaction to justify his position. Negative or positive comment relate to reader interest and that is enough to sell advertising.

Finding a buyer for a newly-promoted Championship club with existing debts - even a club the size of Sunderland - might not be as simple as this article seems to think it will be. Anderson at Bolton couldn¿t find a buyer at his £10m asking price.

The article says that the money was all Donald's, so did Methven not put any of his own money in? Look up his PR company Dragon Advisory online and there is a lot of harsh criticism of him as a boss and businessman. All looks very self-seeking, those parachute payments were meant to help the club not make him and Donald rich.

So the parachute payments were used to save the club. Sounds like a smart move

What is the problem? They still had to maintain running costs - that ranges from the people who work in the ticket office, the groundskeeper, kit man, tea lady and stacks of other people that work for the club that I can't even think of but are still on the pay roll. These guys rescued Sunderland and if they profit then well, who cares?
