The 22-year-old was left out of his side's last league game of the season and his compatriot believes it is time to look for a new challenge
Brazil legend Rivaldo has urged Gabriel Jesus to leave Manchester City this summer for more regular playing time elsewhere.
The 22-year-old striker has made 46 appearances in all competitions this season but started just 20 of those, scoring 19 as his side retained their Premier League and Carabao Cup crowns but crashed out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage.
"Gabriel Jesus wasn't as influential this season as he was in the last one and I think he has two valid options for next season," the former Brazil and Barcelona star said.
"As a young prospect he could continue and keep evolving with Guardiola, hoping that more chances come, or he could leave for another club of similar stature to try to become a regular starting 11 player.
"I see the second option as the best solution. He already gained experience and maturity at City and looks prepared for a new challenge in a team where he could be more important for the team."
Jesus joined City from Palmeiras in 2017 and his current contract runs until 2023.

19 goals is a good stats for such a young player Man city should keep him or you will be regretful And I believe he won't leave The Blue. He is ready to fight in UCL with Kun!

his too much offside problem, but I think it can be improved. I don't think he can become a successor to Aguero as a striker, but I think he can become a very good attacking winger. So I want him to stay.

😣😣😣The Media are at war with City. Today they are just spreading lies about City youngsters trying to decide them from the team. This morning it was about Sane now Jesus Leave us alone pliz. We understand you are angry with Liverpool losing the title but for you to daily try to cause mayhem in Man City thats a step too far. Are all players of Liverpool playing 90 minutes every game?

i don't share RIVALDO's sentiment though all Brazilian would love there first team players being starters week in week out around Europe r the world but such could happen if they r better than d next player nex to him when talking about JESUS this is so last season he was great & AGUARO to d challenge with performance no coach can overlook ...now as a LEGEND of the game & BRAZIL RIVALDO should b encouragin JESUS to take up said mantle as his teammate instead of telling him to run,not only JESUS has a good coach who can help improve his game but he has age on his side not to mention he's in position to be KUN's successor ...
