With nine wins on the bounce in all competitions, it's fair to say Unai Emery has already hit the ground running at Arsenal.

But the Spaniard is far from the only new recruit to make a positive impression early doors.

Indeed, key to much of the Gunners'  good work over the past few months has been summer signing Lucas Torreira, who is swiftly becoming a fan favourite in north London.

Combative yet technically adept, the diminutive Uruguayan's displays at the heart of the Arsenal midfield are backed up by a series of extremely impressive numbers that show a tangible impact on his new side - and have even led to comparisons with club greats such as Gilberto Silva on social media.

In 442 minutes without Torreira on the pitch, Arsenal have conceded 10 times and scored just nine.

That's compared to a staggering 20 goals for and just three against in the 548 minutes that Torreira has actually been in action.

It has also been pointed out on Twitter that the former Sampdoria player has helped set the tempo of Arsenal's play from midfield by making a total of 373 passes at an average accuracy of just over 87%.

In addition, two assists, 36 duels won, 6 clearances and 15 interceptions help paint the picture of someone adept both at breaking up play and distributing effectively from the base of midfield.

On the early evidence, Torreira is exactly the kind of player the Gunners have been missing for some time.

Arsenal fans will be hoping his purple patch continues long into the business end of the season.
