David Beckham left Manchester United for Real Madrid in 2003, doing so after Alex Ferguson had had enough of working with the Englishman.
Ryan Giggs has explained that Ferguson moved Beckham on because the time had come.
"It was getting too much, where there was arguing every other week really," Giggs said during an appearance on BeIN Sports.
"It was just time for both parties to move on."
Giggs also explained that most players who left Manchester United did so for footballing reasons.
"I think the majority of the time it was for football reasons, whether to get someone in or maybe the player's starting to lose that influence," he added.
