Igor Thiago has not played a minute for Brazil since being substituted at halftime in the team's first group stage match against Morocco.

In the opening group stage match against Morocco, Igor Thiago started as center forward. The 1.90m tall striker earned the starting spot over Cunha, pairing with Raphinha. Brazil drew 1-1 with Morocco.

In the second group stage match, Brazil defeated Haiti 3-0 with ease, with Cunha starting and scoring two goals. After the match, media outlets widely suggested that Ancelotti's decision to start Cunha had revitalized Brazil's attack, and that he should remain the starting center forward.

Igor Thiago played only 62 minutes in this FIFA World Cup and has not featured since being substituted in Brazil's opening match.
