Manchester United supporters have hailed teenager Anthony Elanga after he scored his first-ever Champions League goal to draw United level against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
Latching onto Bruno Fernandes' excellent pass, the substitute swept the ball into the far corner with a cool and composed finish, putting United back on level terms.
Atletico had been ahead since the seventh minute through Joao Felix's excellent header and had dominated much of the contested.
However, with just 10 minutes remaining on the clock, Elanga, who had stepped off the bench to score against Leeds United on Sunday afternoon, showed tremendous levels of composure to bring Ralf Rangnick's side level and put themselves right back in the tie.
Having netted what could be a pivotal goal in both the tie and United's season, supporters hailed the 19-year-old Swede on social media. As you can see from the messages displayed in the tweets above, Elanga's impact has been hugely appreciated by United's supporters, who must have been mightily relieved to see him put the ball in the back of the net after a drab display.
It was, in the circumstances, an excellent finish from the Swede and one that will send a clear indication to Rangnick of what he is capable of at the highest level.
United's supporters inside the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium certainly acknowledged the youngster's strike, constantly signing his name to the tune of Rhythm is a Dancer by Snap! until the full-time whistle was blown.

Man U. are like that and a near soon a good player is rejected. We saw similar things in Anthony Marshal, Marcus Rashford and others but are now playing second Fidel to that SC.

If Greenwood have like Elanga attitude and personality.... Greenwood right, Sancho left, Elanga centre... Or they can just switch positions Bruno behind them, with two commanding midfielders, two flying n creative wing backs and two rock solid in Central defender everyone giving 110% for Manchester United ... But Sigh.............. That will only happen in my dreams...
