Toe injury provides latest set-back for Sergio Reguilon

Sergio Reguilon's end to the season with Real Madrid has gone from bad to worse.

The left-back suffered a toe injury during training on Tuesday when a teammate accidently stamped on his foot with his heel.

The incident caused one of Reguilon's toenails to dig into his toe and the Spaniard had to have the nail removed surgically on Thursday.

Reguilon, who enjoyed a lengthy run in the team under Santiago Solari, has seen his chances limited since the return of Zinedine Zidane as coach.

However, the Frenchman was planning to give Reguilon a run-out at the weekend when Los Blancos face Real Sociedad at Anoeta.

With Marcelo recovering some good form and rumours circulating about the signing of Ferland Mendy from Lyon, the left-back would've had the opportunity to impress.

Unfortunately, this injury has all but ended his season, and possibly his time, at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
