Cenk Tosun has returned to Everton because of injury, in a blow to Crystal Palace.
Tosun has suffered a knee injury in training, and will be assessed at the Toffees' Finch Farm training ground.
The striker was sent to the Eagles on loan for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign in January after struggling to earn regular game time at Goodison Park in the opening months of the term.
However, the temporary spell is in danger of being cut short as the ECHO & Sky Sports understand the 28-year-old has returned to Finch Farm.
Some reports have suggested the striker has suffered a serious knee injury although that is yet to be confirmed by the Blues.
Tosun has scored two league goals so far this season, with one coming for Everton in the 1-1 draw with Spurs in November and the other in his temporary side's draw with Man City in January.
