Tottenham Hotspur have dispatched members of Mauricio Pochettino's backroom staff with Dele Alli to Dubai as the midfielder accelerates his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The England midfielder posted a photo of himself arriving at the popular destination  ahead of starting a warm weather training plan as he bids to return from the injury he suffered against Fulham last month.

And it is understood a Spurs physio and fitness coach have accompanied Alli to Dubai to oversee the rehabilitation programme Spurs initially hoped Alli would be fit to return to full training by the beginning of March, but there is growing hope the 22-year-old's comeback could arrive sooner.

Alli showed he was back on the pitch and putting in the hard yards as he posted action shots of himself at work on Instagram.

The midfielder was put through his paces by a member of Spurs staff, while also managing some ball work.

Alli is not the only Spurs star currently jetting off around the world.

Top scorer Harry Kane, himself out injured, was in Atlanta on Sunday for the Super Bowl as Tottenham turned to Son Heung-min  to rescue three points in a 1-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday.

Son then went on to celebrate his match-winning strike by heading out to dinner with former Spurs defender Kevin Wimmer in London.

Alli earlier posted his arrival in Dubai on Instagram, and he cut a relaxed figure as he joked around in first class with one of his entourage.

Writing on Instagram, the midfielder wrote: 'Touched down, ready to work'.

Mauricio Pochettino was beginning to stare at an injury crisis in the face before the timely return of Son to the side following the South Korean international's involvement in the Asian Cup.

A match-winning goal against Newcastle at Wembley means he has now amassed nine goals and five assists in his past 10 appearances for Spurs.

He kick-started the fightback in a 2-1 win in midweek against Watford and again against Newcastle, leading to him toasting both performances with a celebratory dinner in London.

Along with his agent Patrick Williams, Son was reunited with former Tottenham team-mate Kevin Wimmer.

The pair posed for selfies and looked delighted to be back together given the defender is currently plying his trade in the Bundesliga with Hannover.

Having both arrived from Germany in north London in 2015, the duo were famously good friends at Tottenham and were often spotted together joking around in training.

They spent time at the Langham hotel in Marylebone as Wimmer was all smiles - a distraction from Hannover 96's difficult season sitting at the foot of the table in Germany's top division.
