Souness and Redknapp agree on Jota red card

Graeme Souness andJamie Redknapp have claimed Diogo Jota should have been sent off for a high boot on Oliver Skipp. The Liverpool forward caught the Spurs midfielder in the face with his boot in the second half, with the challenge leaving Skipp with a nasty cut on his head.

Speaking after the match, Souness said on Sky Sports: "That’s a red card. He’s been - as you said, Jota’s not that type of player - but he’s knocked off it for a brief moment and he’s ended up going for the ball showing six studs. He’s got to go for that."

Agreeing, Redknapp added: "I think it is a red card. You’re endangering an opponent, that’s the letter of the law, and to compound it that’s the man who scored the winning goal so you can see why he [Ryan Mason] is furious about that one.

"It’s a nasty challenge. He’s not that sort of player, he doesn’t mean to hurt anyone, but when you put your foot that high - you can see it’s a nasty gash as well that he gets - for me, red card."

Romero and Dier 'shambles'

Tottenham defenders Cristian Romero and Eric Dier have been slammed for their performances against Liverpool in the Premier League.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Gary Neville said: "You’d have to go a long way to see two defenders have as bad a week as Eric Dier and Romero - they are all over the place. Absolute shambles they are at the back. The lack of composure from Romero is staggering and the choice of charging out by Dier, with his experience, he’s done it two or three times in this game already and he shakes his head.

"Dier and Romero, they need the season to end. They’re a lot better than they’re showing. That’s being kind to them."

Klopp 'should have been sent off'

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed that Jurgen Klopp should have been sent off during Liverpool's 4-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

The German celebrated wildly in front of the fourth official when Liverpool substitute Diogo Jota won it for the Reds shortly after Richarlison's equaliser. As the ball hit the back of the net, Klopp approached the fourth official celebrating in his face in a fiery manner, seemingly pulling his hamstring in the process.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said: "Jurgen Klopp should have been sent off for what he did to the fourth official but, like we say, he won’t care. He lives on the edge."
