Tottenham have reportedly been offered the chance to sign AC Milan forward Rafael Leao in a cut-price deal.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side have had a busy start to the summer transfer window, spending £185 million on midfield duo Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali among others.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, new AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim has ruled Leao surplus to requirements and has offered Spurs the chance to sign him.
It’s understood that the club’s financial situation has been heavily impacted by failing to qualify for the Champions League for two successive seasons and they will be forced to sell in order to balance the books.
Milan are demanding at least €60 million for a permanent transfer but would be open to a loan with an obligation to buy for €70m.
Speaking previously to Sport TV, Leao admitted that he would like to try his hand at English football.
"I felt I could make a difference, but the way the team played didn't put me in a position to do so,” he said.
“I need a new challenge. In Italy, the league is evolving, but for my style of football, the Premier League or La Liga would better showcase my talent and me as a player."
