Tottenham owner Joe Lewis annoyed at how Harry Kane has gone about tyring to seal Man City move

Harry Kane Kane has weakened his chances of leaving Tottenham this summer by annoying the club's billionaire owner Joe Lewis in the way he's gone about trying to get a move to Manchester City.

While focus has been concentrated on Kane's relationship with chairman Daniel Levy, it's understood that Lewis - whose net worth is £3.5billion - has been unimpressed with the way the England captain's future has been discussed and is digging in his heels.

Kane, who hasn't won a major trophy in his career, said in an interview with Gary Neville in May, that his future was up to him, rather than the north London club.

Last week there were reports that Spurs had agreed to let him join Manchester City for £160million – a price the league champions have made it clear they won't pay.

Though the figures are huge by football standards, they would barely make a dent in Lewis' vast fortune and he's become involved in the stand-off feeling the noise surrounding the striker's next move has been disrespectful.

Kane has three years left on his current Tottenham contract and Lewis is in no mood to be forced to sell.

The Spurs centre-forward, who won his third Premier League golden boot last season, is represented by his family rather than belonging to one of the country's major sports agencies.

While City remain confident they will eventually be able to sign Kane and Jack Grealish in this window, they haven't ruled out other options at centre-forward following the departure of Sergio Aguero who has joined Barcelona.

Kane is currently on holiday in the Carribean and with England having been in Euro 2020 action until July 11, he is unlikely to be ready for the first weekend of the Premier League season on August 15 when ironically Spurs meet City.
