Tottenham have been slammed by Fulham vice-chairman following their successful pursuit of Ryan Sessegnon.
Mauricio Pochettino's side sealed a £25million deadline day deal for Sessegnon, which came as a huge blow to Fulham, who were relegated from the Premier League last season.
And Tony - son of owner Shahid - has heavily criticised Tottenham for their handling of the transfer.
After showing heavy interest for months, Spurs got their man at the last minute, with the lateness of completion meaning Fulham - who were wary of complying with FFP - couldn't sign anyone in time.
Speaking to Fulham's official website, Khan said: 'We heard from them [Tottenham] for the first time two weeks before the close of the window.
'We had been making all our deals under the assumption that Ryan could wind the contract down and they were not going to offer us anything. I was totally prepared for that.
'It seemed like it might be a likely scenario when he still had not heard from them a couple of weeks out, which is why I was doing loan deals where we knew the club would compliant with Financial Fair Play [FFP] rules.
'We had got three of our top four targets on loan but there was still a lot of uncertainty about what we could do in the rest of the window after we got Ivan Cavaleiro, Anthony Knockaert and Harry Arter.
'It turned out we were not able to buy any players because this transaction had been held up. And when I finally got an offer it was so ridiculously low that I had to make it super clear that we were not going to take a penny less than our asking price, which is exactly what we got.
'If it was a penny less than our asking price I was perfectly fine for the player to wind his contract down.'
Fulham were looking to acquire the services of Michael Hector from Chelsea before the window closed, but couldn't go ahead with it as they were still waiting on Sessegnon's future to be resolved.
They were then forced to target loan signings to comply with FFP regulations.

l think you misunderstood the point. Fulham fear they will lose Sessegnon on a free transfer, and they only hear from Spurs just once two weeks before the deadline and after that Spurs goes silence. And thats why they only got loan deals in place cause they thought they will not generate any income through player sale to buy any player and to comply with FFP rules. And then Spurs comes with a bid on a deadline day and they got no choice but to sell him, and Fulham couldnt find a replacement in time because the window has closed.
I shall stay humble
The EPL is a tough league and nothing can be taken for granted, on paper we should be competing on all fronts this season.

Yeah, im excited too Spurs managed to buy a few players. They sure exceed everyone expectation last season eventhough they didnt sign anyone. And now they're even better with the new signing. Spurs are one of the team to beat this season, alongside Liverpool and City.

I respect your opinion and also understand why you view it as such, to be honest i'm just glad we made some signings, it's been too long.

Yeah. In the end, it all comes down to the ethics. Sure Spurs got the man in the end, and im sure it was a great buy for them, but for me it was unethical, and ungentlemanly, or unspormanship behaviour for me.

Sadly in today time and age, money talks. I understand your point, but it was a decision for Fulham to make.. you can't take the money and then still play the victim card. Sorry it doesn't work that way.

And who in their right mind would turn down a 25m-30m offer when the opposite is he would leave for free? And remember Fulham still has to pay his wages for a year if they decided to refuse the offer, and there is still FFP lurking around to boot.

They got Onomah. It's their fault they didn't sign an exact replacement anyway
For free and that I'd beneficial for them given now they own a midfielder with potential. Spurs scouts are would class

I disagree, they could have declined the bid and still let him run his contract down. They ACCEPTED the 25mil and go what they got.

I think this is pretty stupid tbh. Don't selling clubs usually try to drag their feet and make the buyer wait as long as possible to finalize the transfer to drag it out if it's someone they don't want to sell? And now all of a sudden taking a while is a bad thing for them? Gotta say I've never heard someone have the audacity to say a team is unethical or annoying or whatever for not buying a player quick enough, our bad for not just meeting your asking price in the first week

Why would Levy pay the wages any earlier to a player that is going to be injured until September? It was always going to be last minute, unless they decided to offset that by a lower fee. It was their choice they didn’t want to sell him for less than a penny asked. Sounds like Levy done exactly what he should of done.

Unlucky mate. Sh it happens in football. At least you got rid of that statue of MJ, should bring a few more fans back through the turnstiles, who were embarrassed by the monstrosity of it.
