Francesco Totti’s son, Cristian, has been lauded for fair play after stopping a certain goal to make sure an opponent wasn’t hurt.
The youngster was playing for Roma in the Madrid Football Cup, a tournament reserved for the best Under-14 teams in Europe.
Playing against True North Soccer, Totti Jr took the ball around the goalkeeper, but his opponent was injured when his head cracked against Cristian’s legs.
Though the Giallorossi kid had an open net, he stopped to make sure his opponent was OK.
“For me it was important that he was good, not that I have to score,” Cristian Totti told a local reporter, in English.
The 12-year-old studies at an Anglo-American school in the capital, and appears to have more of an ear for languages than his famous father.
Er Pupone was once asked if he believed in the Latin motto 'carpe diem', to which he replied: "I'm sorry, I don't speak English".
