Thomas Tuchel is desperately trying to get Paris Saint-Germain to keep captain and star defender Thiago Silva at the club amid the Brazilian's imminent transfer to Chelsea.
The 35-year-old announced after Sunday's Champions League final loss to Bayern Munich that he will be leaving the Parc des Princes on a free transfer this summer.
Silva captained his side during the final in Lisbon but is expected to sign a two-year deal at Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard plans a £200million overhaul of his Chelsea squad.
But according to L'Equipe, PSG manager Tuchel is trying to make a last-ditched attempt to keep Silva in Paris by persuading the club to offer him new terms.
However, Silva looks set on a move to west London and expects to be playing until he is at least 39.
After the 1-0 defeat to Bayern over the weekend, Silva said: 'It was my last game in Paris. I am sad. I apologise to the fans.
'I thank all the fans for their love. I will return to Paris and this club that I love in another role.
'I want to play three to four years still and be part of Brazil team in the Qatar World Cup.'
The Brazilian defender has spent seven years at PSG, winning 24 major trophies with the French giants in his time there.
The Champions League final was his 315th appearances for the French champions and has scored 17 goals for the Parisian side.
He is set to join Chelsea, who have already added attacking duo Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech to their ranks for next season.
Lampard is set to support these deals with the acquisitions of Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz, Leicester City's Ben Chilwell and Silva as they attempt a 2020-21 title charge.

I'm a PSG supporter and due all respect to Thiago Silva, he must leave to teach Chelsea Defenders. I have huge respect for our Captain but PSG should change things. Even Tuchel should teach defender and Mid fielder about how to get ball in Forwards feet. His tactics were not useful to begin with. If it had been Klopp or Guardiola with this team, I'm sure of getting UCL in our grasp. But this is game, all things happened and Our RB was totally Useless .. His work only to fall in the ground whenever anyone touches him. Look at AA and Kimmich how they supported the RB position exactly any forwards would seek for. Thiago you'll be missed but you should live a nice chapter with Chelsea. I wish you best of Lucks.
