Tuttosport: Tottenham considers De Zerbi or Motta to take the place of Tudor

According to "Tuttosport", Tottenham Hotspur are in serious trouble. With the continued decline in performance, the club has begun to discuss the possibility of changing coaches, with names such as De Zerbi and Thiago Motta being mentioned.

Just nine months ago, Tottenham beat Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao to win the Europa League title, but now, the old London team, founded in 1882, is facing the risk of relegation to the Championship. The last time Tottenham fell into the English second division was back in 1978, nearly half a century ago. Now, the blame for this collapse falls almost entirely on former Juventus coach Tudor. Tudor was sacked by Juventus CEO Comolli on October 27 last year, but less than a month before Valentine's Day, he was appointed as head coach by sporting director Johan Lange. Tudor replaced Danish coach Thomas Frank, but his coaching start has been extremely poor.

In his first three games in charge of Tottenham, Tudor has lost all three, and all the games have been played in London. The team first lost 1-4 to Arsenal at home, then 1-2 to Fulham, and then 1-3 to Crystal Palace. All three derbies were lost, Tottenham conceded 9 goals and scored only 3 goals. Tottenham are currently 16th in the league, just one point ahead of Nottingham Forest and West Ham United. With the continued poor performance, fan dissatisfaction has risen rapidly. Tudor has become a major target of protests in the stands. In the game against Crystal Palace, some fans left early before the end of the first half. At that time, after Solanke scored first, Tottenham were reversed by Ismaila Sarr's brace and Larsen's goal.

Derisive voices kept ringing out in the stands, and "Quack" and "Terrible" became relatively mild evaluations of Tudor. Fans also chanted "Sacked in the morning". It is worth noting that former Juventus football director Giuntoli was also seen in the stands. He replaced Tudor with Thiago Motta to coach the team in March last year. Currently, the Tottenham top management is still watching, but the possibility of sacking Tudor after only three games in charge is increasing. The overall performance of the team has declined significantly: the content of the game is lackluster, there are few offensive opportunities, the intensity of the game is insufficient, and there is a lack of fighting spirit. The team seems to have neither minds nor spiritual cohesion. In addition, there seems to be a rift in the team's locker room. It is reported that many players are dissatisfied with the strict, tough and uncompromising coaching style of the coach from Split. Tactical arrangements and on-the-spot substitutions are also highly questionable. For example, in the game against Crystal Palace, the promising Brazilian full-back Sousa was substituted in the 42nd minute of the first half, and midfielder Gallagher came on as a substitute.

The next schedule will be even more severe for Tottenham. The team will first challenge Atletico Madrid away in the first leg of the Champions League 1/8 final, and then go to Anfield to face Liverpool. Then there will be the second leg of the Champions League, and finally a key battle for relegation against Nottingham Forest on March 22. Against this background, the club has begun to discuss a coaching change plan. Many fans still miss Postecoglou - who was sacked after leading the team to win the Europa League. Potential candidates to replace Tudor include Sean Dyche, Ryan Mason, and Robbie Keane. In addition, the names of De Zerbi and Thiago Motta are also on the shortlist.
