The Competition Committee will not spare Xavi Hernández. In an official statement, the body said the coach must serve a two-match ban for protesting to the referee in the goalless draw with Getafe with a fine of €700 for the club and €600 for the FC Barcelona coach.

The referee's report from referee Soto Grado stated that: "In the 70th minute, Xavier Hernandez Creus was sent off for the following reason: Leaving his technical area with his arms raised towards the area of my fourth official ostensibly protesting one of my decisions, having been warned beforehand by my fourth official. Once he had been sent off, he remained in the mouth of the tunnel and the on-field delegate had to remove him."

Meanwhile, Raphinha will have to serve the same suspension as his coach. The Brazilian winger, who was shown a straight red card for elbowing Gastón Álvarez, will miss the games against Cádiz at Montjuïc and the third matchday against Villarreal.

According to the statement, he will have to serve the sanction for "violent conduct during the game without the possibility of contesting the ball." The club will also be fined €700 and the player €600.

On the winger, the ref's report stated that "in the 42nd minute, player (11) Raphael Dias Belloli was sent off for the following reason: Hitting an opponent with his arm with excessive force, when the ball was in play but not in dispute between the two."
