Arsenal transfer news: Leeds United's Tyler Adams could be on the move in the summer depending if Sam Allardyce's men are relegated
USMNT ace Tyler Adams could be set to leave Leeds United at the end of the season after only a year at the Premier League side.
The midfielder swapped RB Leipzig for Leeds in the summer for a fee in the region of £20 million, reuniting with former boss Jesse Marsch. His debut season in England hasn't played out as he would have expected, with Leeds staring relegation in the face.
Sam Allardyce has recently been appointed as manager for the final four games of the season, with the former England boss tasked with keeping the Whites in the Premier League.
With concerns over Leeds' top flight status, Adams could be one player that is sold on to raise funds and free up the wage budget in the Championship. Here, football.london takes a look at everything we know about the United States international’s future.
Premier League preference
Despite interest from Europe, it's reported that Adams' preference is to remain in the Premier League. The 24-year-old has made 24 appearances in England's elite division but has missed the last eight games.
Arsenal and Newcastle are said to be monitoring his situation, with him likely to cost significantly cheaper than other alternatives.
Summer interest
With Leeds looking destined to be relegated out of the Premier League, speculation surrounding Adams' future has gathered pace. According to MLS transfers, Sevilla and Hoffenheim are the 'most interested' clubs.
Thierry Henry admiration
"As a kid, I had a poster of Thierry Henry," he said. "I often watched his games for Arsenal or Barcelona and I was then able to train with him. I became a professional because of Henry, he was my motivation."
Arsenal summer move
Last summer, Mikel Arteta's side were said to be keen on Adams before his move to Elland Road. German outlet Bild claimed that Arsenal were keen on a move worth around £34m but Porto's Fabio Vieira was instead signed.
