UCL draw: Chelsea await fate, quarter-final opponents, fixture dates

Chelsea will find out their fate in the Champions League quarter-final draw today after they sealed their place in the last-eight following a 2-1 aggregate win against Borussia Dortmund over two legs.

The Blues secured their place in the quarter-finals after overcoming a first-leg deficit at Stamford Bridge, courtesy of goals from Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz. The last-eight is where Europe’s biggest club competition becomes really interesting, as many of the continent’s powerhouses clash in spectacular fashion.

This was the stage Thomas Tuchel’s side reached last season, as the holders were beaten by eventual winners Real Madrid 5-4 after extra-time. Excitement can now begin to grip west London about a potential repeat of the 2020/21 campaign, when they beat Manchester City to claim the ultimate crown.

Pep Guardiola's side are the only other English team to progress to this stage this year, after thrashing RB Leipzig 8-1 on aggregate. They're joined by Benfica, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli and Real Madrid.

The Champions League quarter-final draw is scheduled to start today at 11pm (GMT).

Graham Potter's side reached this stage via a 2-1 win against Borussia Dortmund over two legs.
