Conor McGregor has weighed in on the European Super League fallout, tweeting that he is considering buying Manchester United following their controversial bid to form a breakaway league.

The Red Devils were one of 12 clubs to pledge their support for the Β£4.6bn scheme, described as a 'close shop' by critics amid fears that it would change the football landscape forever.
However, on Tuesday evening the plan begun to unravel with Chelsea and Manchester City looking to withdraw from the competition, while United announced that chief executive Ed Woodward will leave his role at the end of 2021.
And UFC star McGregor, who was a boyhood United fan, has taken to Twitter to ask fans for their view on his idea to buy the Old Trafford club.

'Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying Manchester United! What do you think?' he wrote to his 8.6m followers on the platform.
The Irishman, who raked in roughly Β£90m from his mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather in 2017, would certainly be a welcomed owner among United fans, who are demanding that the Glazer family sell up in the wake of the Super League plot.
The American owners, alongside countrymen Stan Kroenke and John W Henry of Arsenal and Liverpool respectively, are thought to have been driving forces behind the competition, as well as Florentino Perez of Real Madrid.
McGregor previously revealed that United's history of success, as well as ties with Irish stars such as Roy Keane and Dennis Irwin, attracted him to the club as a youngster.
'I was attracted to the success and winning mentality of the club and people surrounded by United. Irish legends like Denis Irwin and Roy Keane were dedicated to their craft and had that winning mentality.
'Roy Keane was one of the best midfielders European football has ever seen. Opponents would be mentally beaten before they'd even stepped on to the pitch to face him.'
McGregor also described legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson as 'the don of football'.
'Then they had the don of football at the helm, the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson. To have that much success over such a long period is remarkable and something I continue to aspire to.
'And he did it by nurturing youngsters into stars and not by spending and spending and spending like some of these other managers. It's been great to see Sir Alex getting back to full health and continuing to be at the United games. What passion! I wish him and his family all the best.'

π£ Zlatan Ibrahimovic speaks "I will play for Sweden. I just came back to my national team last month and someone in Madrid who has never played football in his life, wants to see me and other Footballers out of Euros and World Cup, it's insane. It's do or die. I will play for my country. I can find another club if it continues like this. There is Malmo in Sweden for me. There is sporting Lisbon in Portugal for Cristiano and there is River plate in Argentina for Lionel Messi, these Players should be in international football, I know they're thinking exactly what am thinking although they haven't come out yet, once they come out you will see that Footballers are more powerful than owners. Playing for sporting Lisbon, River plate and Malmo won't stop our qualities, but it will save football from this disaster.β πΈπͺ π¦ NO TO ESL
