The stakes are high in Manchester City's Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid so it was no wonder Pep Guardiola cut a highly animated figure on the touchline on Tuesday.
Guardiola was a constant presence at the edge of his technical area during the rollercoaster of action at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City edged out Real Madrid 4-3 in a thrilling first leg contest.
But with a place in the final on the line, the City boss was living every minute of it like he was one of his players on the pitch during the pulsating encounter.
For Madrid's second goal and Vinicius Junior's excellent strike in particular, Guardiola felt the agony of his defence being torn to shreds.

The Spanish side led an excellent counter attack down the left through Vinicius, whose incredibly clever dummy without touching the ball on the halfway line saw him dart past the bamboozled Fernandinho as he let the ball run through his legs as well as the City stalwart.
It led to the forward bearing in unchecked on goal before slotting home to half Madrid's deficit at 3-2.
While many marvelled at the skill from the Brazilian forward, Guardiola was left in a state of agony as he crumbled to the turf with his head in his hands expecting the worst.
Once the strike had gone in, Guardiola then remonstrated with the fourth official, although it is unclear of the nature of the Spanish manager's complaints.
Bernardo Silva helped restore City's two-goal advantage in the 74th minute, but Guardiola soon had his head buried in his hands once again when Karim Benzema's second goal of the match from the penalty spot with eight minutes to play ensured the match finished 4-3.
Guardiola's reactions were not just restricted to despair though at his side's defending, with his attackers also feeling the wrath of his touchline emotions.
Watching the action at 2-0 up from his seat in the dugout, he was soon showing fury towards Riyad Mahrez who missed an excellent chance to make it 3-0 following earlier goals Kevin de Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus.
The Algerian wasted an opportunity to square to Phil Foden for a tap in by instead seeing firing into the outside of the net.
Following his fiery outbursts on the touchline, Guardiola admitted post match that his side should have been more clinical in front of goal to build a healthier lead in the tie.
'It was a good game of football - both teams with an incredible amount of quality players on the pitch with incredible personality to play,' City boss Guardiola said.
'The result is what it is. We won, we are going to rest, then play Leeds and travel to Spain next week. To win this competition, from my small experience, you have to overcome situations like football gives in front of you.
'The result could be better, but Madrid is always Madrid. It doesn't matter if 1-0 up or two or three, you have to perform really well two games. We performed really well the first one. We have to do it the second one. It is a good test to show our personality as a team and we are going to travel there to win the game.'
Asked if he was upset about City's numerous missed chances, Guardiola said: "We miss them but we create them. We were there all the time. We were there. Listen, not one complaint about the result, the performance, anything.
'I am so proud, I'm so incredibly happy of the way we performed in front of the world against a team that have an experience with that. We did everything to win and with courage, with the ball, without the ball.'
It leaves the tie on a knife edge heading into the second leg, which will take place at the Bernabeu on May 4.

It's like people have forgotten that Madrid lost the match and it's not by mistake that they lost the match. Man City is stronger than Madrid, so they beat Madrid in Spain again
