Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to have been granted a £140million war chest this summer as he bids to turn Manchester United back into Premier League title challengers.
But £100million-rated Jadon Sancho on the Red Devils' money, that transfer kitty could disappear fast if it is not used wisely.
United legend Ryan Giggs has given his verdict on whether his former club should swoop for Sancho and another target, Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish.
But the Old Trafford side have been linked with other targets too - and the debate continues to rage over whether David de Gea should remain as the first-choice keeper.
Here are the latest United transfer rumours.
Red Devils weigh up shock Schmeichel move
Manchester United are weighing up a shock move for Kaspar Schmeichel, according to The Sun .
The Leicester keeper, 33, is of course the son of Old Trafford legend Peter Schmeichel.
United face a quandary over the goalkeeping position with David de Gea having come increasingly under the spotlight following a series of high-profile howlers this season.
With the likes of £109million-rated Atletico Madrid man Jan Oblak out of reach, Schmeichel would offer years of Premier League experience at cut-price value while rising star Dean Henderson is allowed time to develop.
United enter centre-back talks
Manchester United have entered negotiations to sign Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile, according to French outlet TF1 .
19-year-old Badiashile made 16 appearances in Ligue 1 this season and is considered one of Europe's most promising young centre-backs.
United are understood to have been monitoring the Monaco academy product for some years, while Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid are also interested.
A left-footed centre-back, Badiashile could form a solid partnership with right-footer Harry Maguire at Old Trafford - and the move would be in keeping with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plan to assemble a youthful Red Devils squad.
Napoli drop asking price for Koulibaly
Napoli president Aurelio Di Laurentiis has stated the price it will take for him to sell Kalidou Koulibaly - and it is ten million euros lower than the last time he was asked about it.
Koulibaly has been linked with Manchester United, neighbours City and Paris-Saint Germain, and last month Di Laurentiis said he “would think about” selling the centre-back if he received an offer of €100m (£90m).
Now, Di Laurentiis has told Sky Italia: “Kalidou is a wonderful person and of course it’d be sad to lose him.
“Everything has a time and a place, even when it comes to going our separate ways.
"Having said that, we don’t have €90m on the table and in any case, it takes two to separate.”

Man Utd need to have a transfer budget of atleast £300 - £350. Look at city. They splashed money whenever guardiola needed and bought prospects who are later turned out into stars! Solskjaer needs to get Koulibaly and Skriniar at defence! They should try a new formation. 3 central defenders, 5 midfielders and 2 strikers! They should make pogba stay cause Bruno and pogba have been great at midfield since the restart. They should have De Gea at goal, let Henderson go out on loan! But we do not need kasper schmeical. But if we are to get kasper schmeical then we should have a swap with Romero cause we may have excess goalies. We should sell Fosu Mensah, Dalot, Lingard, Fred, Bailly and Lindeloaf. In this we may be able to get nearly 80m - 100m. We should try to get Grealish or Maddison. We should get sancho. We should get Ruben Dias, Alejandro Grimaldo or Alex Telles. They should get Sancho for 90-100m, Koulibaly for 70-85m, Skriniar for 50-65m, Ruben Dias for 40-60m, Grimaldo for 30m or Telles for 45m. And should get either Grealish or Maddison (either one) for 50-70m. That would end up costing nearly 300-400m. And we would anyways have a budget of 50-70m for the January window if we make more sales. This would boost man Utd to challenge for the title but will take nearly 2-5 years to build a proper chemistry and competitive squad. This is how Man Utd could line up:- GK- David de Gea LWB- Brandon Williams / Luke Shaw CB- Milan Skriniar CB- Harry Maguire CB- Kalidou Koulibaly RWB- Aaron Wan-Bissaka CM- Paul Pogba CM- Matic/ Maddinson/ Grealish CAM- Bruno Fernandes ST- Anthony Martial ST- Marcus Rashford Subs:- CF- Mason Greenwood ST- Odion Ighalo LW- Daniel James CM- Fred CDM- Scott McTominay CB- Victor Lindeloaf GK- Sergio Romero I am sure this squad will be OP and we will be able to surely be back on track like we were in Sir Alex Ferguson’s era. Solskjaer needs some time like Liverpool have provided Klopp. We need to just trust on Solskjaer! In United we trust! Let’s hope for the best in future for United!

Get Sancho, Grealish and Škriniar and we will be serious contender next season. Pogba MUST stay of coz. Let romero front a few games to let de gea get back to his best. Tuanzebe, dalot, williams, fosu mensah all have potential to fit into the team but need to give them time to blossom before they are amongst the first eleven. Greenwood will continue to shine. GGMU!
