Valencia OFFICIAL: Copa del Rey game vs CP Parla tonight postponed due to DANA

Valencia has officially announced the postponed news on X.

❌ Tonight's Copa del Rey tie in Madrid against Parla Escuela has been postponed. 

ℹ️ The match has been rescheduled for next Wednesday November 6, at 7:00pm.

Valencia CF deem this the most appropriate measure due to the terrible consequences of the DANA weather phenomenon experienced in the Valencia region, recommendations to avoid travel and the cut-off in communication to Madrid.

Places near Valencia have recently suffered a huge storm. Thoughts and prayers with the people of Valencia after the terrible storm where more than 50 people have lost their lives.

#DANA phenomenon

The DANA phenomenon is a common occurrence in Spain and usually coincides with the onset of autumn and spring in the western Mediterranean. However, experts suggest it has become more frequent and intense in recent years

DANA or cold drop takes place when cold air descends over the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea. This results in atmospheric instability, causing hotter, moist air on the surface of the sea to rise quickly, leading to the formation of dense, towering cumulonimbus clouds in a matter of hours. These clouds then dump heavy rain in parts of Spain.

According to Romano, La Liga is also considering to postpone Valencia vs Real Madrid game.

Much strength to all the neighbors and affected populations and to the groups that are working on the prevention and consequences of the effects of the storm.
