CHELSEA'S forgotten man Marco van Ginkel is set to finally return to action after 18 months out injured.
His last appearance, however, came in a 0-0 draw with Groningen on May 6 2018, as he skippered PSV to the title.
Disaster struck soon after, when he was forced to have knee surgery after a horror ACL injury.
This lead to the eight cap ace having to spend the whole of last season on the sidelines as he sought to recover from the injury.
Van Ginkel's road to recovery has included a number of setbacks.
He wrote on his Instagram account: "After more than a year, finally back on the pitch.
"For most players it is normal to be training outside, but I had some setbacks during my recovery which was really frustrating.
"I am working hard every day, not there yet but it is getting closer now."

I'm happy for him to be back but I hope he can offer enough to be a challenge for the other midfielders cos our weakness in this squad is that certain positions dont have players challenging each other and it makes players complacent... If he can show what he picked up as Ajax captain at Chelsea then we can push Jorginho into further improving his game.
