Vertonghen suffers instant black-eye after clash of heads in Brighton fixture

Jan Vertonghen has suffered his second black eye this week in Tottenham's match against Brighton.

The Tottenham centre back clashed with Brighton's Neal Maupays and received immediate treatment on the field.

Vertonghen had been given a black eye in an accidental training incident earlier in the week which according to The Sun involved Christian Eriksen.

The injury came after Tottenham had already lost Hugo Lloris, who suffered a horrible elbow injury following an awkward fall.

The Spurs skipper was given oxygen in the incident which saw Brighton take the lead in the game at the Amex.
