Viktor Gyokeres has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, but the Sweden international looks set to join Premier League rivals Arsenal instead
Manchester United have restocked their attack to the tune of £133.5million with confirmation of Bryan Mbeumo's £71m arrival from Brentford on Monday night. He joins Matheus Cunha, the £62.5m signing from Wolves and the club's new No.10.
Next on United's list is a new No.9. Neither Rasmus Hojlund nor Joshua Zirkzee have proven effective enough and last season, United's attack sorely lacked inspiration in the Premier League.
One player regularly linked has been Viktor Gyokeres. The Sporting Lisbon striker enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Ruben Amorim in Portugal, scoring 66 times in 68 appearances under the now-United boss.
But Gyokeres won't be United's new centre-forward. Despite plenty of speculation in recent months, the Swede will not be heading to Old Trafford. Instead, he's increasingly set for Arsenal.
Now, according to Portuguese publication Record, the striker's agent Hasan Cetinkaya has been left "hurt" by the current situation with regards United, Amorim and his client.
The Turkish businessman's name may be familiar as he is also the representative of another Sweden international, Victor Lindelof. The 31 year-old was not offered a new United contract this summer after eight years of service, and has therefore left as a free agent.
Lindelof made 18 appearances for Amorim after his arrival last November and it had been claimed that he wished to stay in Manchester this summer. Instead, the Portuguese head coach decided it was time to part ways.
According to reports in Portugal, Amorim's decision has left Cetinkaya upset and therefore 'the door has been closed' from Gyokeres' representatives to joining United.
Which shouldn't really be an issue given United aren't intent on fighting Arsenal for his signature and Gyokeres is heading into a title fight and the Champions League with the Gunners, if they can finally get his Sporting deal over the line.

How the mighty have fallen. A player back in the day would rush over to Man Utd for stardom and glory. I pray they find their way back and keep challenging for silverware. 🙏

It's good he's going to Arsenal. I detect a bad attitude and rebellious fella in Gyokeres. Man Utd is currently getting rid of bad apples so no need to bring drama queens like him.
