There will be five representatives from LaLiga Santander in the group stages of the Champions League next season.
Villarreal's Europa League triumph means they join Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla in Europe's elite competition.
What's more, Unai Emery's side will be in Pot 1 for the group stage draw alongside Atletico, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Inter, Sporting CP, Lille and either Zenit or Chelsea.
Villarreal's seventh place finish in LaLiga Santander meant they qualified for the Europa Conference League. There will now be no Spanish representatives in that competition.
As for the UEFA Super Cup, Villarreal await either Manchester City or Chelsea in Belfast on August 11.

One thing i love about Spanish teams is that when they see a trophy in front of them, they will do everything to take it back home especially against English teams. 20 years now no English team has won a trophy against a Spanish opposition, and Villarreal are the 10 consecutive Spanish team to defeat an English team in a final congratulations the Yellow Submarine you make Spanish football proud.

English media can make all the noise they want and try to belittle other leagues to the best of their ability. But when it comes to European competitions Laliga is definitely Number one and that's a fact.

How can I explain to you that this player left Sporting FC to win trophies with Man U. Now Sporting won their first league trophy in 19years, while Penandez is still looking for a penalty to play. 🤣🤣🤣 "Penalties are better than trophies" - Bruno (1994)

I don't think Chelsea would have won any trophy in this 21 century if they had face a Spanish team in a final, remember you won the Ucl in 2012 and Atlectico beat 4-1 in UEFA Super cup when they won the Europa, if Bayern did not eliminate Real Madrid before losing the final to you, you won't have even won the Ucl Real Madrid would have beating you.
