Luis Diaz has shone for Bayern Munich since joining the German giants from Liverpool last summer and Vincent Kompany has now made his feelings very clear on the Colombian wideman
Vincent Kompany has continued to sing Luis Diaz's praises after Steven Gerrard told Liverpool to re-sign the winger. The former Porto star quit Anfield last summer for £65.5m.
And he has gone on to shine in the Bundesliga. Diaz, 29, has scored 23 goals and notched a further 18 assists across what has been a sensational debut campaign at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern boss Kompany has understandably been full of praise and hailed the club’s transfer chiefs for managing to secure his signature.
Speaking after the midweek Champions League win vs Real Madrid, the former Manchester City defender said: “Lucho brings a lot to the team. He can dribble, create chances, and finish. But what makes him special is his mentality; he’s not afraid of chaos and becomes a threat in those situations.
“He brings a lot of energy to the team. You can only congratulate the club on signing such a player. He’s a great player for Bayern Munich.”

Kompany's praise for Diaz comes after former Liverpool star Gerrard suggested that the winger - as well as Bayern Munich teammate Michael Olise - would be ideal replacements for the outgoing Mo Salah at Anfield.
"All day long," he replied when asked on TNT Sports if he like to see Olise at Liverpool. "But the problem is, why would he leave Bayern Munich? Big club, they're challenging for the big honours, probably the strongest Bayern Munich team we've seen for a while.
"He's about to take the World Cup by storm come the summer, he looks like a really happy kid, settled… I don't think he's going anywhere. But yes, I would love him at Liverpool, and you know what? I wouldn't mind Diaz back as well."

Former Crystal Palace star Olise is also in the middle of an eye-catching debut campaign in Bavaria. The Frenchman has an eye-watering 16 goals and 29 assists in all competitions this season.
Both Diaz and Olise have contracts set to run until 2029. Liverpool have a tricky task on their hands in the summer as they attempt to replace Salah, who is due to depart despite still having a year remaining on his contract at Anfield.
He is set to be following out of the Liverpool exit door by defender Andy Robertson, who has also announced his exit at the end of his own contract.

The problem is if olise goes to Liverpool too much pressure would be on him and I don’t think he would fit in their system

Olise is comfortable at Bayern and I think he should stay there for the time being to develop more and become unstoppable
