According to The Athletic's Real Madrid beat reporter Mario Cortegana in a video podcast, contract extension talks between Vinicius and Real Madrid have entered a critical stage. The next few days and weeks could determine the player's future, with current possibilities including extending his contract with Real Madrid, a summer transfer, or leaving as a free agent when his contract is close to expiration.
Mario Cortegana stated that negotiations between both parties began in January 2025. Vinicius' side initially hoped for a comprehensive salary package close to a net annual salary of €30 million, with the inclusion of a renewal bonus. The player's team has already shown willingness to lower some salary demands, but the renewal bonus remains the core point of contention in the negotiations.
Vinicius' side uses Mbappe's contract as a reference, arguing that the player has made outstanding contributions since joining in 2018 and deserves top treatment within the team. Real Madrid, on the other hand, is concerned that offering him a renewal bonus would set a precedent, leading other key players like Bellingham to make the same demands in future contract renewals, thus impacting the existing salary structure.
Against the backdrop of stalled contract negotiations, Arsenal has been working for several months and has had contact with Vinicius' team. Club owners have reportedly approved the financial framework required for a potential deal, and Arteta also greatly admires Vinicius. However, there is currently no evidence that an agreement has been reached between the two parties.
There are divisions within Real Madrid regarding whether to sell Vinicius this summer, with some hoping to avoid the player leaving as a free agent in the future, but the final decision still rests with Florentino. The upcoming new round of meetings between Real Madrid and the player's representatives will be an important juncture in determining Vinicius' future.

It appears that it’s KSE pushing for Vini, they want to get a marquee player on board. I personally would prefer us to look elsewhere for a left winger, he can be awkward, moody and argumentative towards his teammates not to mention the salary. We are a close knit family and he could easily rock the boat. Sorry but for all his qualities it’s definitely a no from me.

What the hell are you talking about? Where is mbappe better than vini in the field? Only goals right? Vini is as important as mbappe they should receive the same contract to avoid unrest
Fans don't pay salary, management does according to their staff individual metrics valuation and signing costs. Vinicious came from Little beginning and grow, while mbappe joined from maturity and experienced. These are humans resource management principles. You are free to disagree btw mbappe and Vinicious. Nevertheless Real Madrid management disagree with your opinions. Next week they will sell him, if he doesn't obey management principles structure. Continue arguing to eternity.

Mbappe is a great team player who easily gets on with his teammates whereas Vini is moody argumentative and offensive to his teammates.

first thought: vini at arsenal would bring the left flank and whole team into another dimension. 😍 second thought: i don’t like vini and his behavior. probably even destroys our salary structure (and mood). 😵 third thought: he will stay at real madrid anyway. 🥱
I personally agree with you 100 percent. You’ve nailed it.

Do company pay the same salary structures to all employees ? If you don't know find out why they do so ? Real Madrid is a football company like others multinational companies all over the world.

If they reach Vinicius's level, they'd be right to do so. Vinicius has the right to be given the payments as Mbappe because his contributions for the team throughout the years back him up. That said, acquiring Vini will not destroy Arteta's project; his project expects this reality in its later stages. Plain and simple..
Hopefully we are using each other as red herrings, Vini for financial increase, and us for privacy regarding other targets.

I still believe that the knock on affect of players salaries would outweigh any signing of him. I personally would prefer Godtz from Ajax for around £52 ml. We don’t need a prima donna at Arsenal who can be very controversial towards his teammates. Not for me.

Why paid mbappe more than vini they both should receive the same salary because vini is always bringing good reports to the team not only mbappe, without vini Madrid is nothing

Vincius became greedy selfish and arrogant like his agent. He is going to leave Real Madrid no more top class players top headline in football He wants to leave the club and let's leave the club . Real Madrid has no striker problems of his level. He will left no more his ego problem in the Real Madrid dressing room.

You rate Vinicius too highly..I mean the Premier league can reduce players like him to appear ordinary..Yes he is good, but not exceptional..Arsenal are no longer what they were. They are back at the head table of European football and can afford anyone..

He could easily destroy Arteta’s project, because surely our players would expect a increase in their salaries when renewing their contracts. Rice is the 1st ready to do so.

I personally don’t believe that he’ll ever leave Real Madrid,: i believe he’s using us has a red herring to get his pay rise. Also i believe that we are doing the same, and we are eyeing alternatives in privacy. My own personal opinion.
