Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is poised to collect his British passport over the coming weeks.
The 28-year-old Kenya international put off a proposed move abroad last year to ensure he qualified for his passport after residing in the UK for over six years. However, he is expected to leave this summer following the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.
Though his last season was blighted by a niggling knee injury, Wanyama finished the campaign strongly and played three games in nine days for Kenya in the African Cup of Nations, completing 90 minutes in each.
Tottenham are open to offers for Wanyama as well as the likes of Vincent Janssen, Kieran Tripper, Danny Rose and Serge Aurier.

Wait so anyone who lives in the UK for 6 years gets to become a citizen?

Signed for Celtic in 2011, last time I checked Scotland was part of the UK. Another pointless waste of an poorly researched article. The world doesn't end at England's borders, there's a big bad world out there chief, try it out.

Something is going on with Dier, and I don't feel it's football related.

This is a difficult one. Unlike some, I remember how good Wanyama was when he first joined Spurs. He was titanic alongside Dembele and offered good protection for our back four. We lost 4 games all season in the league (2 of those he didn't play in) and were unbeaten at the Lane. He played in 36 league games overall and we finished 2nd, just 7 points off Chelsea. He was a big part of that but, sadly, picked up a bad injury in pre-season and has struggled ever since. I think he's had long enough to prove his fitness and we're not seeing enough of him, so it makes sense to sell now while he's still 28. But if he stays, I'm not against it. He's still a good player, if he can get fit. If I had to choose one to leave, I'd rather it was Dier.
