Watch moment worker DRILLS Old Trafford seat together just before against Fulham

MANCHESTER UNITED fans have been left stunned after a video surfaced of a man DRILLING a seat back in place minutes before kick-off at Old Trafford.

The video was recorded ahead of the Red Devils' clash against Fulham last Friday.

Erik ten Hag's side won 1-0 thanks to a late debut goal from Joshua Zirkzee in front of the Stretford End.

And before kick-off, one fan needed their own late changes after realising their seat was broken.

A 13 second video published on social media showed how a man was seen drilling the broken seat back into place.

Reacting to the video, one social media user said: "The Theatre of Drills."

A second said: "That’s why we need a new stadium."

A third added: "That’s embarrassing."

Another said: "Who brings a drill to a football match?"

In a statement to SunSport, Man Utd said the person seen drilling in the video was a club worker and that is was not unusual for a small number of seats to require repairs on matchday.

The seating situation comes after scores of seats were seen filling skips outside of ground as work saw grotty old seats stripped out of the stadium.

Old Trafford has grown into a state of disrepair in recent years, with fans and pundits alike slamming the condition of England's largest club ground.

Recent years have highlighted the magnitude of the task needed to bring it up to standard.

The ground has been seen to have patchy paintwork, food hygiene issues and most prominently a leaky roof.

New minority shareholders Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos took the task of  figuring out what was best for Man Utd's future with regards to the fabled stadium.

Plans to demolish the ground completely or perform major renovation work were both considered.

But it was announced earlier this month that they were planning to build a whole new 100,000-capacity stadium on the land adjacent to the current ground.

The club said it planned on having the stadium ready by 2030, while they would also downsize Old Trafford to a 30,000 seater ground to then be used for both the women's team and academy matches.
