Watford are demanding at least £30million from Crystal Palace for club record signing Ismaila Sarr, who could replace Wilfried Zaha at Selhurst Park.

Sarr joined the Hornets for a fee in the region of their asking price from Rennes last August and is expected to leave Vicarage Road following their relegation from the Premier League.

Managerless Watford are under pressure to cut costs ahead of returning to the Championship but are not willing to make a loss on the Senegal wideman.

Eagles boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that unsettled Zaha could leave the club this summer and sees 22-year-old Sarr as a replacement for his star winger, according to The Sun.

Several Premier League sides are said to have shown an interest in the Africa Cup of Nations finalist, although Palace are reportedly the only club to have made an offer.

Sarr scored twice and provided an assist in Watford's shock 3-0 win at home to Liverpool on February 29, ending the champions' 18-match winning streak.

His seven-minute double gave him his fourth and fifth strikes of a season in which he also set up six goals, starting with a goal and assist in the 2-0 win over Manchester United on December 22.

Watford used him in all but 15 minutes of their final 11 matches of the season and he has four years left on his contract.

The Pacy star scored 18 times in 77 appearances for Rennes and represented his country at the 2018 World Cup.
