Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been brutally exposed by Wayne Rooney, who has branded the skipper 'selfish' after his criticism of Michael Carrick
Wayne Rooney has accused Bruno Fernandes of putting pressure on Michael Carrick because he does not want to face it himself. The former Manchester United captain has compared their current crop of players to babies, calling them "selfish" and saying they care only about themselves.
Fernandes called out Carrick and the club's coaching staff over their tactical approach against Como in the Champions League. Lisandro Martinez was the first to speak out after being beaten by Atletico Madrid last week.
Rooney has now singled out those two for criticism. However, the players as a whole are also being called out.
Speaking on The United Stand, Rooney has said: "When Martinez came out, I said this is an absolute nightmare because it will rip the dressing room apart; that was the start. We've seen it now with Bruno, and you're going to see it with more players because they don't want to take responsibility.
Make sure you don't miss the best Man Utd coverage by making the Daily Mirror one of your Google preferred sources.
"You can say whether Bruno was right or wrong in what he said, but you have to take responsibility on the pitch; you have to take responsibility as a group of players.
"These players, they're selfish. They don't care about their team-mates, the manager, the staff, or the fans.
"They care about themselves. If they're not getting what's right for them, they're like babies and just throw their toys out of the pram and go and deflect the blame onto anyone else but themselves."
Rooney understandably focused on Fernandes following his public criticism of Carrick, saying: "He is putting pressure on someone else because he doesn't want to face it.
"If he looks at himself in the mirror, if Martinez and all of them looked at themselves in the mirror, they'll find what's looking back at them is them, and that's not good enough; they need to show more."
Fernandes told TNT Sports: "It's a decision from the staff not to press man-to-man and sometimes leave space behind and try to get the ball, wait for them, but sometimes when you give space to these teams they get confidence."
He added: "That's on the manager and staff to see, not me."
Carrick responded: "We actually half-pressed man-to-man the second half and then conceded a goal from that. And there's a little bit on whatever system you play, whatever tactics you play, if you don't run, and you don't run forward, and you don't run back, you ain't going to win."

according to what Micheal carrick said if you don't run forward and back Ward you don't win . now My question is you as a coach your brought your tactics and now the players are not running enough what are you supposed to do . you have to tell tell them to run. but you will just be there watching football like the fans . this is absolutely nonsense

Don’t have to look far guys Selfishness runs deep with this S.O.B. What do u think happened when Ronaldo came back to have his second stint at Manchester. Who was feeding him the balls ?? U guessed it stingy Fernandes. Bless Ronaldo.. When the spotlight isn’t on you, you get tired not being noticed. I remember he’d look at Fernandes when he was free and wouldn’t put it through. He acts Whingy and whiney. It must be hard being Ronaldo seriously, you don’t know if players have good attributes.

Very well analyzed by the legend himself, WR. Martinez was at fault for not defending well in the 2 recent games and Bruno’s performance has been nothing but pathetic. So, instead of taking the blame on themselves, they are trying to divert it away from themselves!

Bruno Fernandez had his home bungled while he was playing against Como. Manchester United fans are Divided in their opinion. Everyone is blaming one another. Calm Down. Manchester City fans and players have more "sleepless" night than you lot. 😂😜

MANU should get rid of the exaperate cry baby when Saudi clubs want the trash and reap rich rewards for bad rubbish, his behaviour and performances are more often than not ERRATIC, his failures on the pitch always shrugged his shoulders, blame on referees teammates or opponents who touch his glass physique
