The Senegalese forward heaped praise on David Unsworth’s men for their doggedness after settling for a stalemate at Selhurst Park

Everton forward Oumar Niasse has lauded his teammates for their fighting spirit in their 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in Saturday’s Premier League encounter.
The Toffees fought their way back to pick a point at Selhurst Park.
Goals from Leighton Baines and the 27-year-old striker cancelled out efforts from James McArthur and Wilfried Zaha as the Merseyside club avoided their seventh defeat of the campaign.
Despite their struggles in the English top-flight this season, the right-footed forward praised the team's spirit and charged his teammates to keep fighting when they visit the St. Mary’s Stadium to battle Southampton for their next top-flight game.
“The past few months have been difficult but it is always good to get a point, especially away from home, and now we need to work for next week [away at Southampton],” Niasse told club website.
“Crystal Palace started the season badly, but they have some great players. It is difficult to play them away – their stadium is tough – you need to focus and fight every time.
"The confidence is coming into the team, because in the last game (against Watford) we were 2-0 down and won 3-2. Then Palace were ahead twice and we came back.
“We did not give up and the team is getting better and better.”
Niasse expressed delight after his effort - which made it five goals from seven Premier League games this season - helped Everton earn a point.
“It is difficult for me, because for two seasons in a row I did not have a proper pre-season,” he continued.
“I have to work harder and keep running to get my fitness back. I am getting better and better and we will see at the end of the season what happens.
“But I am happy to get a goal and help my team," he concluded.

No new manager can turn this around - the players are simply not good enough / too old ! I cannot see a team beginning to play as a team until the earliest March (if we can get 5 or 6 new players in in Jan) - too late. This is gonna go down to the wire - we need to forget cups etc. We can't survive on performances like this.
So very negative !!!! Are you Dutch?? It is what it is and individually we have talented players so all we need is someone to get them playing as a team with each player playing in his correct position

Pressure mounting . Players don’t look like they enjoy their Football. No harmony . They don’t trust each other .

Crystal Palace is a better team than us. And they’re the worst team in the Prem. If we were playing in the championship right now we would finish mid table.

It was puzzling that Schneiderlin started but Baningime wasn't even on the bench. Judging from recent performances, that doesn't quite make sense. You also have to question the decision to bring on Sandro instead of Rooney and to play Gylfi in a less attacking role. And I'm afraid Keane is more than a bit overrated. Doesn't have the basic ability to control the ball that you'd expect of premier league footballer and needs to learn how to close down shots instead of backing off if he's supposed to be a central defender.

Crystal Palace for gods sake, bottom of the league and we can’t beat them. Koeman, Walsh and the board have taken us backwards in less than a season. Going to be hard to get out of this.

Extremely lucky to come away with anything. I respect Unsworth for managing the Everton team on a caretaker basis and restore some pride after the Koeman shambles but he's definitely not the man to take Everton forward.

aweful display if we didnt have that workhorse niasse wed be planning for the championship already, again this game proves unsworth hasnt the credentials to be the manager, the owner needs to get his finger out before theres no chance we can recover

We still aint got a manager, and happy once again to accept 2nd best. Everton unlike other clubs set their sights far too low. You have to spend to win anything. We have to get a top manager and allow him to form a team with a great squad of players.

Watched the game I must say we were awful Lucky penalty, and given a goal before half time on a plate After that what did we create???? Nothing Defense all over the place If u can’t expect to win against palace, and state a good point,, then we are in a right dogfight to stay in the premiership

Glad they are starting to revive, and no longer imploding once they concede, but a young defender is needed over the new year, particularly because the Best Buy has been the keeper. If they do, the toffees may finally live up to the hype!

that was woeful everton. just turgid stuff. we all know our players are better than this - but the team rooted to the bottom of the league battered us and we scraped a lucky point. feeling rudderless.

I really fear we will be the richest club in the championship ! The club is in a real mess. It's quite ironic that we get a chairman with some who backs the club with money and the management team make a huge mess of things. But for me the real problem is the fraud WALSH......

Niasse man of the match, more fight and determination, haven’t seen battle like that for a long time. All the doom and gloom comments here need to chill out, we are not going to change overnight but the signs are there that improvement and structure is happening. Players clearly playing for the manager, and they are starting to gel but still a ton more work needs doing.

This is disgraceful. Hate this club. I hate the way they still haven't appointed a manager even though it's clear Unsworth can't hack it, the players are a joke... and the manager they are after is another Martinez and would cost a load of compensation. Just fail to see how anyone can pay hard earned money to watch a team that should be challenging for the top 6, merely limping towards safety. Embarrassing
