We simulated Tottenham vs Brighton to get a Premier League score prediction

Tottenham host Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday, so we simulated the clash to try and predict the outcome.

Tottenham face a must-win clash against Brighton and Hove Albion if they want to keep their top-four hopes intact.

Christian Stellini oversaw a 1-1 draw against Everton in his first game as interim manager for Spurs, with the point meaning the Lilywhites have won just one of their last four Premier League games. Both Newcastle United and Manchester United won in the week, meaning Spurs sit outside the top four, three points behind both whilst having played a game extra.

Next up for Spurs is Brighton, and defeat to the Seagulls on Saturday would see Roberto De Zerbi's side go one point behind them with two games in hand. The reverse fixture saw Spurs win 1-0 at the Amex Stadium, with Harry Kane scoring the only goal of the game.

So, can Spurs remain firmly in the top-four battle? Let's take a look.

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Spurs could line up in a 3-4-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Porro, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.

We predict that Brighton could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Steele; Veltman, Webster, Dunk, Estupinan; Gross, Caicedo; March, Mac Allister, Mitoma; Ferguson.

It was an impressive start from Spurs, with the Lilywhites seeing more of the ball than Brighton and limiting the opposition to attacks. Neither side could find a goal in the first half, but it only took Spurs six minutes after the restart to take the lead.

Kane dropped deep to pick up possession, opening up a gap for Son Heung-min to occupy by doing so. Kane turned past his marker before finding Son with a through ball, and just outside the box, the South Korean fired towards goal, with his effort fizzing underneath the 'keeper to put Spurs ahead.

After going ahead, Spurs got a bit complacent and they sat off Brighton, allowing the visitors to attack. And, in the 93rd minute, Brighton were awarded a penalty to salvage a point at the death.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg lunged in on Moises Caicedo inside the box, with the referee awarding a spot kick and sending off the midfielder for the challenge. Alexis Mac Allister stepped up to take, and he calmly placed his shot into the bottom corner, leaving Hugo Lloris stranded to the spot.

FIFA 23 predicts that Spurs could drop points again, drawing 1-1 with Brighton in the simulation. In similar circumstances to the Everton game, Spurs sacrificed a one-goal lead late into the game, with a draw in real life potentially putting a big dent in their top-four hopes.
